Hi dereid49,
Thanks for posting.
Could you please check the model number of your computer? I'm unable to find a product labeled Inspiron 3456. Thanks.

Hello Robert,
Sorry, I mistyped. The computer is: Dell Inspiron 3459 All-In-One PC - Intel Core i5-6200U 2.3GHz, 16GB DDR3 Memory, 1TB HDD, DVDRW, 23.8" Touchscreen, Windows 7 64-bit - I3459-5025BLK
I'm wanting to add an another hdd in the optical bay. I don't use it. I use the 3.0 USB ports for my devices.
I'm wanting info on can this be done with a SATA caddy kit.
I realize I will have to change the bios to boot it last place. I will use the added drive to backup my primary windows hdd.
Thanks for a reply.

You'll need to find a third-party adapter - Dell doesn't make them for these systems. Further, though the adapters often do work, you will almost certainly be restricted to using the drive as a storage device - it will not work as a boot device.
In essence, you're better off with an external drive - even if that means using a USB 3.0 hub for lack of ports.
