BIG PROBLEM My DELL Inspiron 1545

Hi, my laptop DEll Inspiron1545, Windows 7, needs to be restored.  Problem is my DVD drive is not working, I believe the drive is broken, hardware.  So my audio won't play, says 'no driver installed.'   It will not connect to the Internet.  So I cannot use the factory recovery disk or the driver disk and I cannot connect to the Internet to download from there.

I am using my HP Desktop to write this. I put driver disk in this CD drive and was hoping I could copy it to my USB flash, and then use that to restore or install drivers.  Am I crazy?   Is there any help for my laptop.  I really need it.

You can make a USB flash drive installable - but it's not as simple as copying the contents of the DVD to the flash drive.  There is a procedure you must follow to make the flash drive bootable:

Have you tried using the automated recovery (F12 at powerup - choose the Repair, then Restore from the boot menu)?
