Common Problem that i need help with ...

I know that alot of sites talk about how to get this "error" to get fixed but i can't exactly fina what i need. So here goes:

My dimension 4600 is missing two driver:

 C:\WINDOWS\system32\drivers\pfc.sys

and

C:\WINDOWS\system32\drivers\redbook.sys

I know they have to be important because now my CD driver doesn't work. Could someone please tell me what to do or link me to a solution site.

Oh, and my CD drive is a HL-DT-ST CD-ROM GCR-8481B

Those drivers should be on your reinstallation cd. Backup your important files and then put your windows cd in and restart the computer. When it boots up select reinstall windows do not format HDD. If everything goes ok you shouldn't lose any files or folders. It will just reinstall all your windows operating system files.

I believe my problem has to deal with the removing of the Roxio Easy CD and DVD creator. Therefore, does anyone know of a website or something that has a solution or a re-download of Roxio easy CD and DVD creator?

I searched your problem and I agree with JOKERSWILD.  It looks
like a Windows XP problem.  If the above does not help, follow
his recommendation of repairing Windows XP.

Here is a page that has information for uninstalling and reinstalling
Easy Cd Creator.  Of note to you may be Articles 6, 7, 8, 9, 12 and
Article 11 may help along the way.

If the problem is the burning software then these may help.

If the problem is in the Operation System, JOKERWILD was suggesting
using you Windows XP disk to "repair untility"  to repair the installation.
