DELL XPS 8700 second HDD for video editing?
If I will be editing video on my DELL XPS 8700 desktop, should I place all my media on the 2TB OS C: drive that came with the computer or purchase an additional internal drive (like a 7200 4TB drive) to hold all media?
thanks!

Hi Darrenmm,
For video editing, you're going to need some space, so I would recommend a dedicated data drive for that purpose. Your system will certainly support a 4TB drive. Be sure to check the necessary Secure Boot settings for the installation.

Hi DarrenM and Osprey4,
Did the 4Tb HDD work ok in the XPS8700?
I need to replace the original 2Tb HDD, and Dell said the limit was 3Tb... hmmm...
Can you advise me please? I too want to put a replacement 2nd drive in.
I wondered whether I would need to partition it which is not something I want to do - and it may not help anyway..
BIOS = A11
If the answer is yes, can you say whether a 6Tb would work without partitioning?
Thanks in advance... It all got very urgent.
