Dell Branded Samsung 840pro SSD
Hi.
I have Dell Branded (OEM)
Samsung SM841 SSD.
I am hoping that Dell would have updated Firmware available as
download.
Samsung has good firmware so after this later updates would probably be quite
unnecessary.
My drive has old DXM01D0Q and the latest from Samsung would be DXM06B0Q.

Samsung has just released a new firmware update for Dell PM841 mSATA and few other models (not Samsung) so maybe we will receive something?

I'm looking for a firmware update for this as well.
Our office uses Dells with this drive and I'd estimate that 15% of them have failed in less than a year. This morning my Dell Latitude E6530 wouldn't boot up, it got stuck on the blinking cursor after the Dell logo went away, but prior to decrypting the hard drive. I let it sit for a few minutes and powered it down and powered it up again, but the same thing happened. I repeated this a few times and finally took out the battery and put it back in and repeated. After about 30 seconds sitting there it booted up.

We need this firmware update. Cannot use these disks because they crash our system.

Any news on this ? Using DELL 9010 SFF that came with SM841, stuck on this old firmware which has a few coughing issues, namely unusual freeze patterns (can be totally random)

Nothing...
It's 2015 and Dell does nothing for this...
Another thread found also.

I have an E7440 with the Samsung PM841 drive.
I just checked for firmware updates by entering my service tag and there have been a few this year, the last in June.
So it seems Dell haven't forgotten about us. I would hope Dell will thoroughly test new firmware updates that come from Samsung to ensure that they don't break anything, so there will be a delay between Samsung releasing the firmware and Dell packaging and publishing it.

Good that at least some drives are getting support.
My specific drive is MZ7PD512HAGM-000D1 and it's with F/W DXM01D0Q

Yes, two different drive architectures though as most of us in this thread have been looking for an SM841 firmware and after two years I don't believe will ever come. I finally stuck mine in a new build I did for my son and so far so good (knock on wood). Speeds are pretty respectable on an H97 chipset mobo.

NONSENSE, DELL has not forgotten; they never cared in the first place. DELL is ignoring us. This is not a hobbyist site: These are DELL forums--not once has a DELL rep responded. "Fleece them and F*** 'em" is their motto.
