Dell Optiplex 320

I have a Dell Optiplex 320 which I installed Windows 7 on. Both CD-Roms do not recognize any disks. What do I need to do to get them to read the CD? I want to instal a CD/DVD Writer and want to know what writer would be compatible with this unit? Could a CH 545 Dell CD/DVD Optical drive work in this computer?

Hi Bigsky65,

Did you perform a clean installation of Windows 7? Do you see any errors in device manager for your CD drives?

Virtually all desktops can swap a DVD writer for an existing CD drive. Any desktop SATA DVD writer should work. The CH545, however, is IDE and will not work.
