HL-DT-ST DVD+RW GT50N Doesn't works
Hi
I have an Inspiron 5420, it is basics but nice Lap top, I have it since 1 year ago
everything was ok until to one day I tried to read a data disk and other and other, does not work anymore!!
the system administrator detect it and it properties says: this device is working properly
Somebody have idea how to fix it?

I would suggest you to run the ‘Fixit’ tool from the link below to check if it fixes the issue with DVD read/write problem.

I have been having the same problem only mine stopped working a while ago and I have an 5030.
I tried the fix it link and it assumed my disc was unreadable. The second link said the document wasn't available anymore.
ETA: I did a diagnostics test and found that I need to replace my drive completely so help for me is no longer needed.
