Hitachi Travelstar 7K100 on a 9300

I tried installing a Hitachi Travelstar 7K100 60 GB drive on an Inspiron 9300 and got a "no hard drive detected" error.   Come to find out from Hitachi's website that they don't list the 9300 as being compatible with this drive:  http://www.hitachigst.com/tech/techlib.nsf/techdocs/6829A9AFE0DCD1E586256FF0004F1B70/$file/7K100_com.pdf

However, the testing was done several months ago, so I don't know if this is true.  Would this just be a BIOS issue?

More likely, you forgot to remove the blade connector from the back of the original drive and place it over the pins on the new one. If you did forget that, the drive isn't connected to the system board.

You are correct.   I don't know how I could have forgotten.  Seems to work fine now. THanks.
