Optical Drive
I have a i1545 laptop with a lg GT10N optical drive. Regardless of which method I use, I cannot create a system image on portable media (CD-R, or CD-RW). I have used Dell DataSafe and Windows backup and restore. My OS is Windows 7. The error message I get states "Windows backup found errors on the media while saving a backup on it and cannot use it for additional backups. I have used the drive to burn CDs and other data discs without any problems. Can any one help resolve this issue? Thanks.

Windows has come so far an an OS you would think they could figure out how to engineer a system backup method that actually works. Alas, the utility stinks!! Here are some recommended alternatives.
Now, having said that, if you still want to use the Win 7 utility, I think you'll find blank DVD disc much better. One DVD should be able to hold your system image. Be sure to use only good quality media, such as Verbatim DVD+RW discs.
