Prefered SSD for inspiron N5010
Hi Everbody,
I have a quite old Dell Inspiron N5010 and I would like to replace the HDD to an SSD. Reading comments I realized that many problems may occur. (BIOS doesn' t detect the new SSD and so on...)
Does anybody have experience with N5010? Any suggestions are welcome!
Thank you for your help!

I recently added a Samsung SSD in mine, worked great for a while.... I used their clone software and boot time was a massive improvement. I then upgraded to W10 and started getting a lot of errors, so started again and re-cloned the old W7 drive again. Worked fine for a while until one day it refused to boot with a blue screen....
I reverted to the old drive and got my money back :-(
Maybe the drive was faulty and maybe you will have more luck. Note though that changing the drive is a pain as you have to remove the keyboard, but there are good YouTube videos to help.

Thank you for your reply!
I read some comments about that 7mm SSDs should be placed with an extra 2mm adapter (HDDs are thicker as I know). Did you use anything like that?
I agree the disassembly is a bit tricky, I've done it several times :)
