Reduce size of backup partition
I have a Inspiron 6400 running running Windows XP. The original disc is a 80GB SATA with a "D" partition for backup that has 17.2GB assigned for backup. I backup to an external drive therefore the 17GB is unused & wasted space. Can I reduce or remove this partition to increase the usable space? Thanks.

There are several free programs that will allow you to alter the size of partitions without losing data. Easeus Partition Master Home Edition is one of them. If you do a quick Google search I am sure you will find more. Unless you are a computer tech who needs loads of features the free versions should suit you just fine.
Let us know how it works out for you.
