XP Upgrade

I just upgraded Latitude x300 from 2000 Pro to XP Pro. Two problems (so far...): Truemobile 1300 shows my wireless network on the Site Monitor but not on Wireless Networks, so I can't connect. Dell site suggests loading the drivers and utilities CD. Hence problem #2...external CD drive whirs, but computer doesn't see it (install wizard doesn't appear, tried another data CD and that's invisible, too). Now what?

In device manager remove Truemobile 1300 drivers. Uninstall any software for it.

By external CD drive you mean it is a USB drive? If so perhaps you need the usb driver for it.

After you remove the 1300 stuff reboot. Reinstall the driver for the 1300 but not the software. This will let windows detect the wifi networks and make it easier to connect.
