pny 64gb flash drive freezes up

i have a dell inspiron n5110 with 500gb hard drive and 4gb ram

I bought a pny 64gb flash drive

when I download large pictures on it, it takes forever for a 1.5mb picture to open.

when I try to open a picture, there is a solid line that runs across the top of the folder starting from left to right.

indicating the picture is loading or something.

when the line reaches the right side of the folder the picture will open. sometimes takes 1 minute.

I think my computer has only 2.0 usb ports. I don't know

is there a driver from dell that i need to install to make the 3.0 flash drive run faster?
