power dvd and my xps m140

My dvd player is a bit wierd....when I put a movie in, it plays with the little menu bar in the right hand corner...but if I close it and re-open it (with resume play or restart), it plays like the power dvd I am used to at work..which is the long bar across the bottom of the screen and that inside bar that lets you drag it to any point in the movie....can't figure out why the movie won't open the first time that way...any suggestions....

 

 

 

 

Also, I did some searching and found  references to PC De-Crapifier and Reg Scrub ...can you shed any light on them for me?  My m140 player is a bit finicky with dvds burned on my dell desktop 4600 also.....
