tsstcorp l632d cd burning issues

I have a tsstcorp l632d in my inspiron 1720.

I can burn dvd's fine.

Have a problem when i try to burn data cd's.

If i use verbatim cds it won't says it is burning, but there is nothing on the cd.

When i use other type it burns ok.

If i use verbatim after i use other type, it burns ok.

Q. Why does verbatim cd work after i burn with a different type first?
