SA uninstall/reinstall

* The PC should have the latest BIOS and Intel Chipset Device Software driver already installed
* A laptop should have its external power adapter connected
* Disconnect all external peripheral devices (USB drives, printer, etc.) from the laptop
* Go here and enter your private PC service tag number
* Click Search
* Click DRIVERS & DOWNLOADS
* Save the latest BIOS and Intel Chipset Device Software drivers to your Windows desktop
* Once both are saved to the Windows desktop, close all browsers
* Right click each one and Run as administrator. Install the BIOS first, then restart. Then install the Intel Chipset Device, then restart

Uninstall SA

* Right click the Start menu button and select Control Panel
* Under Programs, select Uninstall a program
* In the list of programs, locate and select Dell SupportAssist
* At the top of the window, select Uninstall
* When done, look for Dell SupportAssist Agent, Dell SupportAssist Update Plugin, and Dell SupportAssist Remediation. If any are found, select Uninstall
* When done, restart the PC

Reinstall SA
* Go here to download the latest SupportAssist
* Click the blue "Download SupportAssist"
* On the bottom of the browser, click Show all
* Click Show in folder
* Right click SupportAssistInstaller, left click Run as administrator. Follow the prompts
* When finished, restart the PC

* Go here and download the SupportAssist OS Recovery Plugin for Dell Update (Alienware, ChengMing, G, Inspiron, Vostro, XPS)
* Go here and download the SupportAssist OS Recovery Plugin for Dell Update (Latitude, OptiPlex, Precision)
* Right click SupportAssist Update Plugin, left click Run as administrator. Follow the prompts
* When finished, restart the PC


How to delete the older SA snapshot files after uninstalling SA

* Click the Windows icon
* Type file
* Click File Explorer
* Click View
* Add a check to Hidden items
* Open C:/ProgramData\Dell\SARemediation\SystemRepair\SnapShots
* Press Ctrl A to highlight all
* Click Delete on the keyboard
