Dell Streak 7
Please help! I just received my Streak 7 for XMas....I called Dell only to find out that I am unable to download the Honeycomb Android 3.0 App. because it is unavailable to users who have T-Mobile (makes no sense), anyway the gentlemen who I was speaking to said that they will be coming out with it for us users. I guess my question is this??? Does anyone know if this is true? because if it is not true I am going to return my purchase to QVC.

Here is a link to the Dell Blog on the issue:
http://en.community.dell.com/dell-blogs/direct2dell/b/direct2dell/archive/2011/10/07/android-3-2-honeycomb-update-to-dell-streak-7.aspx
It states:
"Unfortunately, Dell will not be offering the update for customers locked to T-Mobile in the U.S. With each software update, the requirements for offering the update vary by carrier, region and device, and Dell has decided to not offer this update to T-Mobile customers in the United States."
Based on that, it seems Dell will not be offering the upgrade to your Streak.
Hope this helps with your question.

Hrova,
I think the OP may be confused; she seems to think that the Honeycomb is some app she launches.
The QVC website for this item clearly states that the QVC Dell Streak 7 has the Android 3.2 Honeycomb OS. http://reviews.qvc.com/1689/E167995/dell-e167995-dell-streak-7-16gb-wifi-tablet-android-3-2-os-and-case-reviews/reviews.htm?page=5&sort=submissionTime&dir=asc
Apparently, QVC has enough retail pull to get Dell to give them a Dell Streak 7 with Honeycomb 3.2 OS in it.
The consumers out of luck are the ones who bought their Dell Streaks 7 directly from T-mobile. Very bad for them.

I guess I am a bit confused as well....
Apparently, QVC has sold several versions of the Streak:
http://community.qvc.com/forums/Electronics-talk/topic/239825/dell-streak-7-tsv-1113.aspx
I wonder if some were T-Mobile versions.....
Either way, offering an upgrade for all but one subset of the product can easily lead tot his type of confusion... I'd be a bit disappointed if I had bought it expecting to upgrade it to later find out I couldn't....

The posts over at QVC doesn't offer much insight. The guy ALTECHNET seems to believe that his Streak is different, but then goes on to ask what is the difference. Some of the QVC aren't exactly tech saavy, so it is hard to know what is what.
Hard to tell whether it was T-mobile or Dell that is deciding not to offer the upgrade of the T-mobile Streaks.
People seem quick to jump on Dell, but I'd like hear what T-mobile has to say, yet T-mobile seems surprisingly mute on this topic.
What is "special" about the T-mobile units that would cause a problem with an OS upgrade? Some people were surmising over at the T-mobile forums that the new OS would unlock the units which T-mobile would not want. Hmmmm.

Agreed.
There are multiple unauthorized unlock methods out there to get the new Android on the T-Mobile Streak that sound like they work fine. I suspect this is a business move requested (perhaps even coerced) by T-Mobile.
Regardless of all that, to the OP. If you can, perhaps you should return it. It is a discontinued item and I can only guess support for it will dwindle to less than it already is.

Return your purchase, I have two Dell Streaks less than two months old and both are in for repair/attempting refund.
