XPS 8300, error code 2000-0332, validation code 26531

Hello all,

I am encountering a problem with my XPS 8300. Every time windows is started, a  frozen black screen will pop up. The diagnosis test showed error code 2000-0332, validation code 26531, msg: Video memory integrity test discrepancy. I tried to update my bios to the latest version, but the latest version was already installed (bios version A06). I also installed all the the windows updates, so the computer is up to date.

The desktop will start in save mode. When running a programme to get completely rid of the drivers (in my case Guru3d) the pc will be able to start again in normal mode. However, after 5-15 minutes the problem of the black screen occurs again. When restarting the computer after this moment, it wont start again because the black screen will pop up at the start up again. This process can be repeated and exactly the same thing happens.

When disconnecting the video card and putting my monitor in my motherboard it works.

Any ideas to solve this problem?

In advance, thank you for your answers.

The following may help. But if the onboard video works fine but the GPU card gives you an error, it would seem that there is a problem with the video card. At this point it would look like replacing the video card would be the fix. Have you another video card that you can try in the system?

Kind of an old system, so is it worth replacing the video card at this point, or just using the onboard video since that's working?

Just something to consider, if budget is an issue....

Thank you for your answers!

Yes, it is indeed a very old system. I managed to get a video card of a friend and this card worked. So it is probably the video card that is broken. I replaced it with a very old video card that was originally placed on this motherboard, which worked.
