XPS 8930, (M.2_SLOT1), use for M.2 SSD?

I was wondering, I do not use WiFi, I use ethernet and always will. Could I put another M.2 SSD in that slot and have two M.2 drives? Just curious. All the manual said is (M.2_SLOT1) it does not say exactly what it's for although Dell uses it for a WiFi Card.

M2 Wifi sockets are E keyed or A and E keyed not B or M Keyed.

Wont work with a ssd drive

An M.2 SSD is “keyed” to prevent insertion of a card connector (male) to an incompatible socket (female) on the host. The M.2 specification identifies 12 key IDs on the module card and socket interface but M.2 SSDs typically use three common keys: B, M, and B+M

M2 is a socket not a storage standard.

Thanks @Vic384 I know I read through the Manuel. Maybe someone else will know more and post if they have tried it.

@CTG_8273 The XPS 8930 Setup and Specifications says the one M.2 card slot is used for WiFi and Bluetooth combo card and the other is used for SSD (PCIe/NVMe). Whether the M.2 WiFi slot can also be used for an SSD is not clearly stated.

@CTG_8273 What I found was in the Setup and Specifications, not the Service Manual.

@speedstep

Thanks for clearing this up. I did not take the card out don't feel like fooling with that. But I could have easily took it out and saw it was different. But as far as an SSD fitting I still would not have known if they make one that would. Because there is a NVMe and a PCI NVMe. I wasn't clear if there was another type of M.2 SSD that would fit.
