2001FP Replacement and Shipping Questions

Hello I'm on my second warranty replacement monitor within a month. The first replacement monitor(another 2001FP)went bad after a couple of weeks, so Dell was nice enough to send me another one. Problem is the new one, instead of being a standard aspect ratio 2001FP, is a wide screen 2007WFP. It works great, but I'm not a fan of the wide screen format (at least not when it's lower than 22 inches - far too small). Does Dell consider a 20" wide screen a suitable replacement for a standard aspect 20", or did I get one by mistake? I may be answering my own questions there. Do I have any recourse? Also, since the new monitor is a WS, the old one won't fit in packaging Dell sent the new one in. I was told by a CS agent from India to "just put into any box it'll fit in and ship it back", but I think it needs to be far more secured than just "put in a box." Does Dell care if I butcher the foam the new monitor was shipped in in order to make the old monitor fit it? I imagine this is far more secure than anything I could do with foam peanuts. Thanks, Smithhh
