DELL Ultrasharp U2713HM - Dead Pixel

Purchased a DELL Ultrasharp U2713HM 3 months ago, great monitor but a few days ago I found out that I had dead pixels, not dead pixel against black but only noticeable when against a light background eg: white, light grey etc. on the bottom left hand corner area. Then again this may have always been there ever since I purchased it.

This blemish is more like a small smudge or a spec. (I did not spray or clean my monitor with any type of liquid, spray ever since I purchased it). Dead pixel or not its a panel fault.

So I called DELL and did all the basic troubleshooting they wanted me to do, and of course it didn't fix my problem.

My monitor is still under warranty so I got a replacement...My "new"  (most likely a refurb) replacement came in today (Kudos on the quick replacement that is one thing I would like to applaud DELL for).

But guess what...Too my surprise this replacement came with a dead pixel, smack bang right in the middle of my monitor. Definitely a dead pixel, when its against black you can see a red dot.

So I can't call DELL at the moment due to all calls at this time being routed to India or Malaysia, which happen to me yesterday around 4pm, I had to speak to 4 consultants to get to the monitor tech support department to arrange for a replacement which I think can only be done locally.

Do DELL do quality checks before sending replacements out, as a customer or anyone for that matter getting a faulty replacement will reflect poorly on DELL.

Reason why I have posted this it too let people know that when purchasing this monitor or any other model from DELL and any products from DELL  please check the product thoroughly and do it methodically and if a replacement comes in DO NOT celebrate because you may need to call again to get it replaced. Could this be the reason why they offer great warranty service mmmmmm.
