Adding more storage space to existing RAID 5 configuration
I am trying to add more storage to my server. Currently I have a C: @ 13.67GB and a D: @ 54.03GB
In Dell's Open Manage Array It states that there are 3 drives with RAID 5 configuration with a capacity of 33.87 GB each.
I have three open drive bays, one extra drive @ 74GB. Do I buy 2 more Drives. RAID all 3 of them together? Do I add the 4th drive as a member of the virtual disk that is already currently up and running?
After either of these options are in place how is the extra space allocated with in disk manager? ex. C: D: can the new storage space be applied to logical drives alrady in place or does a new one need to be created.
Thanks!
