PowerEdge 2450 Hangs during installing Windows 2000

Has Windows NT 4 installed on it now.

Tried to do fresh install of Windows 2000 on server. Plan was to keep data partition while deleting and recreated the OS partition with the new OS install.

Contacted Dell tech support and was sent email to latest Raid drivers as prep for installation.

After making Raid driver floppy, hit F6 during installation and the Raid driver installed correctly.

But then the installation hung (for as long as an hour) at the starting Windows setup screen.

After again calling Dell, flashed BIOS to lastest version, A09.

Tried setup again and hung in same spot.

Dell rep thought it might be tape drive, so disconnected and tried again. Again, hung in same place (starting Windows setup screen).

Please advise on any thoughts which could be causing system to hang. Or possible resolution.

Thanks,
