Debugging.... Just what did I DO??
Hello Everyone,
I had to call tech support: lets just say I had a heck of a time understanding the instructions. Need I say more?
Why did I call? I have been trying to re-install WindowsXP, but kept getting error messages that made tech assume the WindowsXP CD was defective. Got new CD today, tried to install again; got to the point where Setup needed to format HD and came back to say could NOT format. That is where I gave up and call for help.
Bottom line, I was "guided to" debugging the HD. New to me!
(1) Why Debug??? Why not use the Dell Diagnostics CD?
(2) Would debugging tell tech support that the HD is defective as he lead me to believe? I got 2 or 3 error messages (only the word error), then he decided that the drive needed replaced.
Truthfully, I have a hard time believing the drive is truly bad.
Can anyone out there convince me otherwise?
Thanks
TexasGrandma
