Unsupported hardware platform vmx-07.
When I am trying to deploy vOPS Server Explorer software using the OVF template, I am getting an error stating "Unsupported hardware family vmx-07". I am using vSphere client, ver.4.0.0, with Virtual Center Server, ver.4.0.0 (build 258672), on ESX Server 3.5.0 (build 207095).
I think I could get past this issue by manually modifying the OVF text file and replacing the "vmx-07" string with "vmx-06" (or even "lower") or by uploading the VMDK files on a data-store and creating a new virtual machine on my cluster to which I am going to attach these files.
Is either of these methods correct? Any other ideas (I need to be quite sure about this before proceeding since this is a production environment...)? Please, comment.
Thanks,
Panos Tsapralis.
