Computer acting like its out of memory
Hi,
I'm having a strange problem where after I leave my computer on for a few days it will start acting like it is out of memory (when I can clearly see from my Windows task Manager that it isn't). I have 512 MB of RAM in my Dimension 8200 PC, and my PF usage hardly ever gets above 340 MB (the Page file is set to 740 MB) but still, programs will fail to launch and instead just give a "ding" sound when trying to open. If I start killing other programs (which really aren't using much memory, such as Winamp, Trillian) the program which would fail to open before, would open up with no problems. But then, once again, if I try to open additional programs they fail. Anyone know what the problem may be?
I'm running a Dimension 8200 with Windows XP PRO, and 512 MB of RAM
Any help would be appreciated
Thanks
