As you know, pressing power button by default should put the device to sleep but all the sudden my power button ceased to work.

In the power button settings, I've tried assigning different functions to the power button such as hibernation and shutdown but neither of them worked.

The power button seems completely dead, but I can still turn on/off the device using the power button so I am guessing(hoping) the problem is not physical.

▶No problem turning on the device using the power button.

▶Pressing the power button doesn't put the machine to sleep/hibernation, etc

▶Pressing and holding the power button 10-15 seconds shuts down the device.

▶sleep menu(the one that pops up when you click the power icon) is available and works properly

I discovered that a similar problem with Venue had been reported and discussed under here:

But the solutions there didn't work for me :( Please help
