Alienware 3423DWF Console Mode/ Tone Mapping Help
Does anyone know definitively whether console mode and or source tone mapping should be set to on during HDR usage?
What does console mode do specifically?
There seem to be 3 groups:
1. console mode and tone mapping set to on
2. console mode on and tone mapping off
3. console mode off and tone mapping off
currently using HDR1000 mode.
any help would be great.

Page #45 of the manual: Manual
- Console mode is supposed to provide the best gaming experience for console games. It basically allows the monitor to accept a 4K signal and display it properly on the monitor.
- Source Tone Mapping allows the Source device to map the colors rather than the monitor. This only applies to HDR content.
You can read about Source Tone Mapping
