Aurora R9, BIOS 1.0.23
Santa is warming up his reindeer; preparing to spread good cheer throughout the world, and not to be outdone; Dell/Alienware has bestowed a holiday treat for those owning R9s, a new improved BIOS. Yipee! Just what I wanted.
Hard to believe we're only on BIOS update 23?

I have not been able to upgrade from 1.0.22 to 1.0.23. It fails every time, regardless of whether I try to do it by downloading the EXE file from the Dell Support site (get an error message that it's not compatible), or use the Alienware Update app (spins for several minutes before failing) or use Support Assist app (also fails).
Has anyone been successful in updating?

Well, that is most unfortunate, I merely download the file from the Dell Support site, transfer it to a USB that I keep Rufus on, (google Rufus, works every time for me), F12 to BIOS update with the USB stick installed and haven't had a problem in over 20 BIOS updates since I aways update the BIOS outside of Windows.
Please note, I have Windows fast startup shut off, and no bit-blocker or software encryptions running.
I hope this helps.
