17 R4, motherboard failures
Hi, I have had my Alienware 17 R4 for about a year and a half now and she has been wonderful! Lately I have been hearing about my model and similar models having motherboard failures.
My warranty ran out, a few months ago but with this news floating around it freaks me out major league. If I were to renew my warranty and if the motherboard were to fail anytime thereafter would Dell still replace it without extra charge (aside from the purchase of the actual warranty). And if so, is this only covered under some of the more expensive warranty options or would the basic one cover it?
So far I am experiencing no problems but I would rather be safe than sorry.

My baby 17R4 just had a heart attack 13days ago. (While my what's that thing called? yes,Warranty is finished for 2 years, LMAO ) Got the mainboard replacement for 2 days. I carefully change it on. Hoho, everything seems working perfectly. Except the Nvidia 1070 has a (stop code 43). I thought this is lucky enough, because I just changed a whole motherboard, something like this has to happen.A fresh OS reinstall can fix everything (I suppose).
So I backed up everything I once had in one of my ssd drive. At mean time I have been up for 18 hours (caused by excitement and nervous). Then I started to prepare USB win10 kit. But I was too tired , I quickly fall in sleep on desk. When I woke up I unconsciously start the windows reset , deep resetting.==lost everything in ssd and hard drive, USBwin10kit preparation failed in half, whole laptop's drives licenses are wipeout.
Yep I bricked my 4 years old baby. Now she is trapped in a infinity boot loop and I don't even have a extra computer to finished the USBwin10kit to free her.
Life is dramatic sometime. I'll update when I have chances, maybe when I fix her? I'm not a smart dude so don't expect too much.
