Avamar on DataDomain replications

Hi all,

I have two sites.

each site has an Avamar and a DataDomain.

All datasets Avamar is written on DataDomain.

Avamar are in lockdown mode.

Avamar-A writes backups on DataDomain-A

Avamar-B writes backups on DataDomain-B.

We would like to replicate the two sites.

How I can replicate backups of DataDomain-A on DataDomain-B and vice versa?

In the Avamar Administration Console which configuration I implement?

Thanks in advance to those who will answer me.

Assuming you are on Avamar 7.0.x or later, you can configure replications from the GUI by clicking on Replication:

You'll need to click on New Replication Group.  Avamar uses a wizard to step you through the process of creating a new Replication Group.

In your case, you can have Avamar replicate all backups for all clients.

Avamar-A is aware of which backups are on Data Domain-A.  By selecting all backups, it will attempt to replicate backups on Data Domain-A to a Data Domain array on the target grid, in your case, Data Domain-B.  However, you must also confirm you are licensed for replication on your Data Domain arrays.

The help menu is very clear with instructions.  Give it a try and let us know how it goes!
