The Avamar client will attempt to follow soft links. If it finds that the target of the link does not exist, it will report the exception shown. If you remove the broken soft link, you should stop seeing this exception.

All versions are English. I haven't opened a service request yet, thought I would try my luck out here 1st.

I have the EXACT same problem, this install is very new, but i cannot seem to find the origin of the problem.

I get exceptions all over the place for files and directory that Avamar try to backup, but does not physically exist on the server.

Are you running an internationalized version of Windows ctillman, (other than English?)

The only thing I noticed, is that the exceptions always seem to pop on windows soft link in yoru native language, that usually point to somewhere else; (ie, in french while "c:\USERS\TESTUSER1\Mes Documents", it really is c:\USERS\TESTUSER1\My Documents" under the cover).

Did you open a service request ?

I agree it is a junction issue.  had a lot of them when we first installed Avamar.

used the Junction util to clean them up.

now I rarely see them.

Could you please clarify, what is the "Junction Util" ?

thank you!

You just need to find the soft link that is pointing to a non-existent path and either update it to point to the correct path or delete it.

WE DID - give the solution

its a link issue, find it and remove it

or use the junction util. to remove it.
