AX100 can't Destroy virtual Disk

Hello everyone,

I've got an AX100 with on which i created a Disk Pool and with a Virtual Disk on it.

After a while the Disk Pool was fragmented and I started to defragment it with the Navisphere Express UI but had to shutdown the system because its just a testlab for students. (I thinks thats how it went, not sure since there are a couple of days gone since i had to work with the system..)

Now the Virtual Disk is "Offline, Transitioning" and the Disk Pool is "Defragmenting". There is no progress at all.

I cant destroy the virtual disk, because it says that the disk is used by another feature of the storage system (defragmentation i guess).

It also says on the virtual disk details tab:

"The Virtual Disk currently can not be accessed by any server because of some component failure or incorrect disk drive installation. Correct any component faults and verify that disk drives are inserted into the correct slots."

So is there ANY way for me to completely erase the virtual disk & disk pool?

When i tried to pull the 3 used disks for the disk pool from the AX100, the whole AX100 GUI wasnt reachable anymore

If i wasn't specific enough, i also can provide some screenshots if necessary.

Thank you for your help!

PS: Is there any other way besides the Express version to manage the AX100?

I read that I need the navisphere enabler, but I also read that i can only see the "Transitioning" when its already enabled. Where do i get the navisphere software?

SystemOS: Windows Server 2008 R2

FLARE OS: 02.19.100.5.007

cheers

Defrag on the Virtual Pool (raid group) can take a long time. There should be some indication of progress (I'm not familiar with the AX100). In the Navispshere interface, you should be able to look at the Storage tab and under the Raid Groups you should see the one that is transitioning. Right click on the raid group icon should bring up the Properties page, in one of the tabs it should show the progress of the defrag operation.

I think there is a way to reset the AX100 back to factory default, but that would erase the whole array - all of the virtual Pools and disks, so you'd want to be sure that you have the data backed up that you can still access.

The most current version of the FLARE operating software is 02.19.100.5.048.

You will need to contact EMC in order to get the latest array OS. Generally the AX-series was supported by the partners that sold the arrays.
