CX3-20f - Cannot modify or assign notification templates
Hello,
On our CX3-20f, the option to edit or delete a notification template is greyed out.
I've managed to create a new template based upon the existing assigned template, as soon as I click apply it cannot be edited or deleted either!
When I try to assign the new template, I get the message: "Only IP address is allowed in Clariiphone via Email response's mail server field on an array", it only contains an IP and is the same as the template it was based on, is currently assigned and works!!
Can anyone advise? Am guessing it's a bug in the Flare.

Flare: 03.24.020.5.014 (I realise this is out of date, SAN is out of support so cannot obtain latest Flare)
Thanks
Mike

Hi Mike,
This is a known issue in the version of flare you said. Would request you to please open a ticket with EMC/Renew the contract with us and the support has a temprory solution till the time you are not in a position to upgrade the Flare to the next version or patch.
Vipin V.K The Primus that you've shared in internal to EMC and would not be veiwable by the customer.

Primus solution emc164303 tells this is a known issue in CX3 series systems with FLARE 24. Upgrading the code should resolve this issue.
Also another fix is given here in this primus.

FLARE Patch upgrade to 03.24.020.5.016 is the fix for this issue. However, it is recommended that one should always upgrade to the latest patch i.e. 03.24.020.5.022.
If you have done that earlier with Navisphere Service Taskbar, one can do that own otherwise, you may open a Service Request with EMC Technical Support with SP Collects attached to the SR. Service Engineer will perform a healtcheck and dispatch the same to field CE to upgrade the storage system.

Thanks for all the replies...
Can I upgrade to the latest Flare if the SAN is out of support and warranty? It's a Dell branded piece of kit, will phone them if nobody knows, they couldnt help me with this problem as they cannot support SAN configuration (especially without maintenance).
I've discussed the internal primus emc164303 with someone who has access but of course they cannot provide it to me with it being EMC internal and have advised I need a new modified template to fix if I cannot upgrade - not sure where I can get this without support.
Any help is appreciated, otherwise will have to either get it back under support and maintenance or get it replaced.
Thanks
Mike

For FLARE upgrade activity it is always better the box to have support. During FLARE upgrade we have to expect situations which may lead to DU/DL. It is better you contact your support team for support pricing and request support for upgrade activity.

Bug
.
If you are confident that the array has no other issues (especially hardware issues) then go ahead and upgrade it.
USM is such a user friendly software that any one can do it, it's just like installing any other software in your machene.

Sheron Godfred.
