Disk 300Gb not initialize - CX300

Hi, I bought a 300 HD of Gb model ST3300007FC Seagate, but when placing in mine storage it does not recognize. Mine storage is a EMC/Dell Cx300 would have to be a different HD or different / specifc firmware?

I'm not entirely clear on the question. Are you saying that you purchased a hard drive that was not specifically for the CX300? If you didn't buy it from Dell/EMC specifically for that array, it is not going to work. There are specific firmware versions for the CLARiiON arrays and you can't use just any drive.

If you did buy this specifically as an upgrade for the array, you may have to check the FLARE code running on the CLARiiON. It may not support the 300GB drives (although it would have to be REALLY old). You need at least FLARE 02.07.300.5.003 to handle 300GB drives.

I not really did not buy of the EMC the HD. He was bought of seagate directly. Then the HD comes with one firmware specific of the EMC? the Flare of mine cx300 is in version 02.19.300.5.30, already it would have to accept.

I'm going to defer to any EMC employee on this, but as far as I know you cannot just buy drives for a CLARiiON array. You have to buy drives that EMC have prepared with the right firmware (and that have been certified by EMC).

Allen
It will be that some way exists to obtain this firmware and to bring up to date this HD?

I would be very surprised if there were a way to do this... and it would most certainly not be EMC approved.

And further than that: it has to be 520 bps formatted as well.
