SMI-S for Clariion
A client of mine is planning to install Solarwinds for monitoring/managing their environment. It requires the Storage Management Initiative Specification (SMI-S) for Clariion, Is there any known conditions one needs to be wary of, when installing SMI-S ? I believe it is only a client component and hence the impact on the storage is minimal - correct me if I am in err.
Regards,
Naleendra

For the SMI-S block provider see https://support.emc.com/products/5587. For the programmers guide please visit https://developer-content.emc.com/developer/devcenters/storage/snia/smi-s/downloads/SMIProvider_ProgrammersGuide_V4.5.pd…
You can also find some useful information in SolarWinds' guide: http://www.solarwinds.com/documentation/profiler/docs/SMISProvider.pdf (Note: powerlink.emc.com has been replaced by support.emc.com).
It uses solutions enabler and actually covers both VNX/CLARiiON and Symmetrix.
