Heads up when doing a Copy/Migrate on a Replicated volume
I have 2 Compellents doing Async replication, both are on SC 6.3.10 code.
I was exposed to the bug where the Dell SRA adapter with VMware SRM would not work properly if any indexes were the same on the source and destination arrays. So Co-pilot setup my DR compellent to start indexes at 1000. I then had to migrate my DR replicationed volumes to new volumes to get the higher index.
I found out the hard way, that when you copy/migrated a volume his replication setting was set to "Replicate to lowest tier". All of my replications are set to all tiers. But again, every copy/migrated volume I did the replication setting was reverted back to lower tier. There is no diaglog in the copy/migrate to let you know, or choose.
So after about 38 migrations, my 7k drives just couldnt keep up anymore from all those replications going to lower tier only. So I had to change my replication settings back to all tiers after each migration.
Anyway, good to keep this in the back of your mind.
