Fine Tuning Discovery
I might not be understanding how OpenManage works or maybe I need a better strategy, but ultimately I only want to know about Dell hardware and nothing else. I created a discovery range that only included the network that my iDracs are on, but that network is also shared with the IBM IMM's. After Discovery and Inventory i get nothing categorized under Devices and I was at least expecting they would show up under RAC. Now I created a second discovery range of the network that the servers nics are on and I know it will find everything including virtual servers.
How do I contain this mess to only show me Dell servers?
Thanks

Hi, thanks for the query.
Which protocol did you use to discover the iDRACs? It is recommended to discover them using WSMAN protocol. Alternatively, you can also use SNMP protocol to achieve the same with slightly limited functionality. Secondly, choose for instrumented devices discovery only while configuring discovery schedule. This will eliminate unclassified devices from the console.
I hope this helps, do let us know of results.

Hi,
I am going to point you to a whitepaper to help to start managing your servers using OME. Please let us know if it helps.
