Firmware update for R620 750w power supply

I'm running OME v2.0 and it reported we needed to apply a critical update to our 750w power supplies on our R620 servers (Power_Firmware_JX7PR_WIN64_09.2B.80_A00.EXE)

I've installed the update on 2 of our R620 servers and did not receive any errors.  After the update process completes (and multiple reboots), it still shows the older firmware (v07.2B.80) is still installed.

Curious if anyone else has had this problem or successfully updated their power supply firmware.

There are already news about that problem?

Thanks

I think jdillipl has some perfectly reasonable ideas here for the OME team to look at doing in regards to these firmware updates.  Thanks.

This is still an ongoing issue. Every 12th gen server in OME is not listed as compliant, even though we have updated the power supply firmware on all of them.

I'm glad other folks are still making noise about this.  This could be resolved with some 5 minutes of attention by the software dev team that maintains OME.  Why can't you guys just put a line of code in there that says if a PSU inventoried object has firmware KnownVersionX and the DUP is KnownVersionY then that object is in fact compliant?

The lack of a fix for this says louder than words that Dell just doesn't care about the quality of their "Enterprise" solutions.

This appears to have been fixed with the most recent catalog version made available. At least for me.  Could others confirm?

Thanks to Dell and the hardware vendors for finally addressing this!

I just saw that as well, but as you stated, it's nice to have these servers as finally showing compliant either way.  I'll take what I can get on this one.

I think the chances of an actual fix on this one are slim to none.

Rob,

I come across this discussion when i was searching unexpected host shutdown issue. we are having multiple R620 servers with ESXi 5.5 installed and we noticed that few hosts are shutdown unexpectedly. We ran a hardware diagnostics and no errors are reported. No issues @ ESXi side also. Below are the messages logged in lifecycle.log in iDRAC.

2016-04-19T09:59:13-0400 SYS1001 System is turning off.

2016-04-19T09:59:13-0400 SYS1003 System CPU Resetting.

Is this issue with power supply firmware?

Thanks,

Kannan
