i2c hid device cannot start

Hello,

I have been facing an issue where my laptop has a code 10 error under the i2c hid device. This doesn't allow me to use two-finger scrolling, and touchpad gestures. I also can't see my touchpad in device manager when this error appears. I recently went into settings and went to touchpad option. I pressed additional mouse settings, and it prompted me to install the synaptics touchpad drivers, so I did. After this, my gestures were fine, and I could use the two-finger scroll. After a few minutes of use, my touchpad froze, and I had to restart my computer. I did and everything went back to normal, and all my gestures were still there. After I shut down my computer and opened it again, my two finger scroll an other gestures stopped working as there was an error again under i2c device. I have tried installing drivers for the serial controller which the i2c device comes under, but that doesn't work either. I have gone through countless Microsoft and dell forums, but no fixes seem to work. I have also tried installing the synaptics touchpad drivers again, but they don't work. I am running Windows 10 2004 build 19041.423. I have a dell Inspiron 15 3583 (hfh3803).
