PowerScale 9.5 join exinting active directory
Hi
We are configuring PowerScale (Onefs 9.5).
When PowerScale joined the customer's domain environment,
Two SPNs(Cluster Name and SmartConnectZone Name) were registered in AD.
Please let me know the following points.
Is it a specification from past versions that the SPN of SmartConnectZoneName is added to the domain?
Is it a common configuration where the cluster name and SmartConnectZoneName do not match?
Sincerely

Hi,
Thanks for your question.
This is normal. Page 6 https://dell.to/3HGrWUP “In OneFS, SPNs creation are based on the SmartConnect zone name and the cluster FQDN hostname.”
Let us know if you have any additional questions.

@DELL-Josh Cr
Hi,
Thanks for your reply.
I read the documentation in the link.
Is the content written in this document applicable to Onefs 8.0 or higher?
Was the SPN specification the same for versions prior to 8.0?
Finally, our powerscale configuration have different values for
cluster name and SmartConnectZoneName.
We recognize that this is not a problem.
Is that correct?
Sincerely,

I haven’t found documentation for versions before 8 but I believe it works the same way. Different names should be fine, and why there are two entries.
