SMB share with question mark under security tab for users & groups.
Hi,
Cluster name: IsilonShare (OneFS version: 8.2.2.0) Node 1.
We have a permission bug with our SMB shares, we cannot ad or remove users or groups in windows. Some shares shows the dreaded user Everyone (previously deleted) now as permitted and most users & groups initially used are now showing a SID with question marks.
I also see root:wheel as owner and group in linux on almost every shares.
I did a chown and it did the trick but still cannot add users and groups in windows.
isi auth users list --domain will correctly list all users in the domain.
isi auth status will also return an online domain and active providers.
From the OneFS web manager, its all green. I can browse AD add and remove users and groups correctly. Under SMB protocol.
Will a simple reboot do the trick or I need to restart IDMAP or SMBD or...?
Thank you for your time!
Dany

Hello MELSNet,
You can try to reboot the host to see if that resolves your issue. Here is also a link to a kb that maybe of assistances as well. https://dell.to/3pnoB7z

Hello MELSNet,
I am not seeing a way for you to restart SMB via cli.

Finally a reboot was done and did some fixing but most of the shares are to be redone, some previously deleted users and/or groups are now visible in windows security. The root cause is unknown.
Thank you,
Dany.
