Hi MichaelNNY,

Welcome to the community.

Well, in this case you can try to disable the scrolling option from touchpad settings and that may fix the erratic touchpad movement issue. You can perform the following steps to do the same-

1) Install the latest touchpad driver from the link www.dell.com/.../19 In order to install the appropriate driver, choose the correct OS in the operating system drop down and then install “Alps-Driver” located under the input option. Once done restart the system.

2) Then double click the touchpad icon located on the bottom right corner of the screen and click the hardware tab. Once done click “Scrolling Settings” and uncheck the enable box.

Let me know of the findings. Glad to be of assistance.

I have a Studio 155 laptop and have the same problem, but disabling scrolling isn't something I want to do. Is there a way to stop the scrolling/entering/deleting once it's in motion? I usually have this problem while using Word and have tried hitting escape, backspace, arrow keys, enter, clicking the mouse, etc. with no luck.

Thanks.
