TB16 USB issue

We have a few users here who are experiencing issues after the most recent update to the TB16 USB drivers.  The computer seems to freeze when going between multiple monitors, USB ports are either functioning sporadically or not at all, and the external keyboard and mouse seem to stick.

We have performed the following:

  • switched out the keyboard and mouse for new ones
  • updated the system drivers and performed the latest Windows updates
  • exchanged the dock for a different one
  • changed out all cables

Please let me know if there's a bug in the latest updates and if we should attempt to roll back.

Eric

After 3 weeks of flawless operation the intermittent keyboard issue happened again. After updating to the BIOS v1.5.8 I lost my external displays. I called Dell support and the agent discovered that my version of TB16 is marked as no longer compatible with the 7480. The offending serial is: CN-00J5C6-12963-71K-0096-A02. They are sending a replacement by next day delivery and told me I can hang on to the power brick (always handy to have a spare)

I'll report back tomorrow if that resolves the issue.

I managed to get my displays (daisy chained DisplayPort) working again using this post:

Am still going to use the replacement dock.

Laptop Dell XPS 15, 9560 + TB16. I have similar problems with USB-ports on this dock. My wireless keyboard and mouse work unstable (especially after sleep). Mouse jerks and keyboard skips letters. I have spent 2 days installing and unistalling, updating and downgrading drivers and BIOS from this list without any luck

I called to Dell support and they offered replacement. Hope it will help.

We have the same problem with Latitude 5480 and WD15 we found out that if we uninstall Citrix Receiver 4.9 we don't get any problems, so now we hope for an firmware update from Dell :)

I have received a replacement TB16 but the problem with wireless Microsoft keyboard remains. I asked support to report this issue. Hope they will be able to fix drivers soon.
