Dns server not responding

I have a dell latitude Intel core i7 and am using an ethernet connection which says it is connected to the internet, but when i try to go online it says dns server not responding, ive looked up YouTube videos on how to flush the dns, changed the numbers i dont even get wifi, how can i fix this
