The unavailability of parts is probably due more to limited sales of touchscreen models (an option not commonly chosen on corporate/business models) and on the age of the system (it's about seven years old, so many if not most of these are long retired from service).
The entire system is worth between $50 and $150 complete and working -- very few businesses are going to stock parts that exceed the value of the system. There just is not much of a market for them at this point.
