Latitude 3540, hinge problems

I have a Dell Latitude 3540 which was purchased in August 2023 and is still under warranty.  I have a problem similar to those that have been reported by others where the screws in the hinge come out and the hinge becomes dislodged.  The problem started back June making a noise whenever it was opened and then the first screw fell out.  Shortly after, two other screws fell out as well as the hinge.  When contacting Dell, we were told that this is not covered under the normal 1 year warranty but would have required an extended warranty to repair basic structural issues because this is not a common issue for Dell.  Meanwhile, a basic google search proves that this is incorrect and not only are there multiple videos posted on how to repair this (the repair which Dell customer support quoted as a $400 estimated fix through their Dell customer on site repair) but through this Dell community board, I see that this has been a problem with other customers as well.  When speaking with Carlo and Ruii Gaawm at Dell customer support, I was told that this is no covered as it isn't a problem that would occur with a "normal opening and closing of a laptop of 300 times per year".  With that logic, this should not be recommended for college students or medical personnel who rely on their laptops and open and close them more than this in the course of a normal month. 

After spending $1363 to purchase this laptop how can Dell then charge even more money to repair a structural problem with their product?  Additionally, how many people need to contact Dell before they add basic structural issues due to the normal use of the product (opening and closing a laptop) as part of their one year warranty?  Any assistance would be appreciated.
