Precision 340 CPU Upgrade?
I own a Dell Precision Workstation 340. It was originally purchased with Pentium 4 1.8ghz CPU (x86 Family 15 Model 1 Stepping 2) w/400Mhz FSB.
I would like to upgrade the CPU to a faster version.
What specification do I need to look for when I purchase a CPU?
For example Socket type, etc.
I have no idea how to find out what my mother board supports
Thanks,
Enzo

On the question of memory, PC-800 (40ns) vs. PC-1066: does it matter? Does the BIOS perhaps detect the presence of PC-800 memory and set the slower clock speed?
Thanks
Chris
