LCD monitors give the best picture quality at the 'native' resolution. This corresponds to the physical number of pixels in the display. For the 1907FP this is 1280x1024. It is possible to run other resolutions but the quality will suffer. Additionally, the 1907FP has an aspect ratio of 5:4. CRTs have a 4:3 aspect ratio, so the resolutions are different.
