S2716DG, cannot get HDCP over DP
Hello, I have a Dell S2716DG monitor and was wondering if it were possible to get HDCP to work over displayport? So far I have gotten it to work with hdmi but I'm using G-SYNC and have it running at 144hz and have been unable to get it to work that way. I do have a second displayport monitor and hdcp is working on that one. Things that I have tried so far:
Used the same port and cable as the second monitor as I have verified HDCP works via that cable/port.
Ran the monitor by itself with the second cable to see if there were any conflicts with having 2 monitors.
Updated monitor and video drivers.
Turned off G-SYNC and set refresh rate to 120Hz.
Ran the BD assistant as advised by this site, it states that the connection is analog, not sure why it shows that way but the Cyberlink one states that the connection is not digital as well. This seems to be the problem.
I have some screenshots as well:
If you need any more information or have anything else I could try let me know. So far I haven't had much success looking this up online.

Turned off G-SYNC and set refresh rate to 120Hz.
* What Hz was the other monitor running when successful at HDCP using the same cable and port?
The S2716DG is capable of doing the following Hz using its DP =
60Hz/85Hz/100Hz/120Hz/144Hz

Run the S2716DG at 60Hz and do the HDCP test. If they pass, then we know that HDCP must use 60Hz.

Just tried that. Its still telling me the display is analog. Also just tried the monitor thru the onboard graphics and it did not work either.

We know that the monitor DP is HDCP compliant. Even external sales sites here and here state this. I doubt that the S2716DG is defective, but you may initiate an exchange and test the replacement when you get it. If both fail, then the fault cannot be with the S2716DG.

I am having a similar problem. While connected through the display port, I cannot play movies that require HDCP. If I switch to use an HDMI cable instead, then I am able to view movies that require HDCP.

I had seen reports of that recently. I decided to contact their facebook chat support about getting an A02 model and they had told me that the monitor was "working as intended" and it's outside of Amazons return window so I guess I'm stuck with this issue.

HDCP over DP should work using the following settings:
G-sync = Off
Refresh rate = 60Hz
Please make those changes and retest.

Applying these settings did not resolve this for me. I am still unable to play content requiring HDCP and both BD Advisor & the NVidia control panel still say that the monitor is not HDCP compatible.

I doubt that the monitor is faulty. But you may initiate a monitor exchange. Test the replacement before sending any monitor back to Dell. If the replacement monitor does not have the issue, keep it and send us the original monitor. If the replacement monitor has the same issue, I doubt that they both could be defective. Send the replacement monitor back to Dell. Look to the cabling, video card drivers, or video card port as the culprit.

The lab just tested both driver: 368.39 and 372.54, and found no issue on a Nvidia GeForce GTX 980, Windows 10 64bit., S2716DG A01 and A02. You all should do a "clean" Nvidia driver reinstall and retest.
